It’s a Wonderful Potter

It's a Wonderful Life starring Daniel Radcliffe

Christmas is coming and one of my favorite movies to watch is It’s a Wonderful Life. Directed by Frank Capra, and starring James Stewart, it’s a classic film from 1946.

But it would be better if it starred Daniel Radcliffe, of Harry Potter fame. Stick with me on this. It’s all part of my imaginings of movies and AI.

I’m a fan of the movie, but not necessarily a fan of the story itself. There’s something about the tale of George Bailey, a small-town man who saves his hometown, Bedford Falls, by preventing the building of an unsafe bridge that has always bothered me.

If I were to re-create the story, I would change some of the details. The people in the movie would have better jobs than they do in the film. I would also have them do more for themselves, instead of relying on the government for their basic needs.

George Bailey’s sister would have an actual job that she enjoyed, and she wouldn’t be such a nag. Her boyfriend would be a much nicer guy and not so aggressive with her. They would actually love each other, rather than simply tolerate each other.

And it would have Harry Potter.

  • George would be played by Daniel Radcliffe.
  • His sister would be played by Emma Watson.
  • His friend would be played by Rupert Grint.
  • Their parents would be played by Alan Rickman and Maggie Smith.
  • Harry Potter himself would be played by Gary Oldman.

And there you have it. A more modern version of the classic. I think it would be better, don’t you?
