Calling Fools

Posted on Sep 28, 2022 by in Poetry |

red-headed goddess

You are all I ever wanted to be

I don’t want to live forever

It seems so easy to give up forever

All I need is time to build me a brand new dream

And if I ever needed to kill time again

I’d spend it searching for a better life

Calling fools

The laughter I found was mocking

And the tears I cried

So I left them

All at once I was freed

And in the air I could see

A new life was born

A boy, a boy, a boy

So he’s a boy and he’s a boy can’t help it

He’s a boy, and he’s a boy, and a boy

And a boy just isn’t a boy enough

To give him what he needs, and comfort him when he’s hungry

And it’s only a matter of time before he’s walking alone

And in his eyes there’s a flame of passion burning bright

And on the outside looking in

He’ll always find it’s best not to be alone

Calling fools

The laughter I found was mocking

And the tears I cried

So I left them

All at once I was freed

And in the air I could see

A new life was born

And when he sees his reflection in the mirror

He knows who he really is, but that doesn’t matter now

And he’ll go on
