But I Would Be A Fool

Posted on Oct 8, 2020 by in Poetry |

Beautiful fool

But I would be a fool
If it wasn’t for your loving, honey
For my vow you didn’t refuse I’d write
And your will be to love me
and I’d do the best I can
But I wouldn’t go the distance
I’d be a fool if it wasn’t for you loving me
For my vow you didn’t refuse I’m gonna go down to the river
and wash my feet down to the ground
that’s what I’d done before I went away
Now I know you really don’t care for me, baby
but I’m gonna go when the sun comes up
and take a ride down that big bloody sea
to wash my feet down to the ground
that’s what I’d done before I went away baby
that’s what I’d done before I went away

It’s a love poem. It’s about fools. Call in the Cardigans!
