ORB PAINTINGS

ORB paintings consist of nine elements of a single color painted over a background of a different color.

These paintings are inspired by the aesthetics of haiku, Japanese rock gardens, and Rorschach tests.

The ORB painting entitled "Necking'" was smuggled into the Museum of Modern Art.

ORB paintings have been created in oil and acrylics.

PA PARA PA

A video collaboration between Paul Rebhan and multimedia artist, Saeri Kiritani.  Created by merging three distant planes of activity into two-dimensions of video and feeding the resulting images through an endless feedback loop that is projected behind layers 1 and 2.  This was the first of several innovative collaborations between Paul Rebhan and Saeri Kiritani.

BETWEENNESS

A videotaped interactive project inspired by the writings of Buckminster Fuller. "Bucky" reminded us that we are all space travelers because Earth is a large vehicle streaming through the cosmos ("Spaceship Earth").

Here, a mute extraterrestrial visitor attempts to interpret common human experiences with a fresh perspective while interacting with people on the streets of New York City.

"Betweenness" is one of Buckminster Fuller's expressions, which he defined as the "property of relationship shared by two points."  Here, unexpected situations of Betweenness are created with the extraterrestrial visitor, his new surroundings, and the people he encounters on the streets.
